About Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award
The Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award (ABNA) is a contest sponsored by Amazon.com, Penguin Group, Hewlett Packard, CreateSpace and BookSurge to publish and promote a manuscript by an unknown or unpublished author.
From the contest sites:
Entrants must provide a full Manuscript (between 50,000 and 150,000 words), an Excerpt from the beginning of your novel (between 3,000 and 5,000 words), a novel Pitch of up to 300 words, and accompanying contest and biographic information such as title, genre, book description, and contact information.
In 2013, one Grand Prize winner received a publishing contract with an advance of $50,000, and four First Prize winners each received a publishing contract with an advance of $15,000.
Submission categories include General Fiction, Romance, Mystery/Thriller, Science Fiction/Fantasy/Horror and Young Adult Fiction.
